According to the reports, people were seen in long queues outside the Lalbaugcha Raja to catch the first glimpse of the deity Ganpati.
Every year, people wait for hours in the narrow lanes of Lalbaug to show their love and affection for Ganpati. As the red curtain went up, the Lord of Beginnings was greeted with cheering and chanting by numerous devotees. While people captured the lovely moment in their mobile phones, the beautiful 12-feet-tall idol sat benignly on a throne dressed in a yellow dhoti with a bright red sash across his shoulders. Lalbaug, apparently, observed the most beautiful moments that herald the beginning of the 10-day Ganesh festival, August 23.The eager devotees thronged the area to welcome the deity and greeted him saying aloud “Ganpati bappa moray”.
